Wayne F. Larrabee Jr., MD, FACS
Dr. Wayne Larrabee is a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at his long established practice,The Larrabee Center located in Seattle, WA. He is double Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Larrabee has served as President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies, The American Board of Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery), and The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He is a Clinical Professor in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle and a longstanding Fellowship Director for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He is the Founding Editor of JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Larrabee also has a Master’s degree in Public Health (Epidemiology) and has invested his humanitarian efforts toward global health throughout his entire career.
Richard Zoumalan, MD
Dr. Richard Zoumalan is a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Beverly Hills, California. He is double Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He did his Otolarygology-Head and Neck Surgery training at New York University, his fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle with Drs. Wayne Larrabee and Craig Murakami.
He has published over 50 academic articles and book chapters and lectures throughout the world. He specializes in all aspects of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with a heavy emphasis on functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty.
Jonathan Sykes, MD
Dr. Jonathan Sykes was Professor and director of Facial Plastic Surgery at University of California, Davis as well as past President of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
He is currently Director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Roxbury Institute in Beverly Hills.
Since his first trip to repair children’s cleft palates and facial deformities in an impoverished Honduras village, Dr. Sykes has remained committed to delivering care to children in medically underserved countries.
In the past 17 years, Dr. Sykes has made over 20 trips to provide pro bono care to children who would otherwise have no access to corrective surgery. He has traveled to Belize, Bolivia, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, Mexico, Russia, Korea and China.
Travis Tollefson, MD
Dr. Travis Tollefson is Professor and Director of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at University of California, Davis. He is Editor of Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine. Since his appointment at UC Medical Center, he has participated in many surgical trips with Smile China and Operation of Hope and provided care for hundreds of children in four provinces of China, three cities in Ecuador, and in Hare, Zimbabwe.
He currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for Operation of Hope and returns to South America and Africa annually for surgical correction of facial deformities in children and adults.
Susan Kurian, MD
Dr. Susan Kurian, originally from West Virginia, earned her Doctor of Medicine from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2017. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at Ochsner Louisiana State University Health Shreveport from 2017 to 2022. Following this, Dr. Kurian pursued an AAFPRS-accredited fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Michael Godin in Richmond, VA, in 2022.
An accomplished professional, Dr. Kurian has published and presented extensively at national facial plastic surgery conferences, focusing on rhinoplasty and facial rejuvenation. Her passion for these areas, combined with her commitment to helping patients look and feel their best, underscores her dedication to her field.
We are excited to announce that Dr. Kurian will be joining us on our next mission to Ethiopia in August 2024.
Gregory Larrabee, Mission Coordinator
Gregory Larrabee, a distinguished graduate of Claremont McKenna College (Class of 2023), brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role as Mission Coordinator. His professional background includes working as an Emergency Room Scribe and conducting clinical research in the Department of Otolaryngology at Stanford. Additionally, he served as a cancer research intern at Omeros in Seattle, WA.
Greg’s meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and deep passion for helping patients overcome facial defects and injuries make him an invaluable asset to our team.
